At approximately 11:30 Friday morning, New Castle County Paramedics and surrounding fire companies were dispatched to the area of Interstate 95 Southbound and West Basin Road off-ramp for a motor vehicle crash, according to Paramedic Corporal Yvonne Russell.
Russell said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found the patient, a 25-year-old-male, who suffered injuries to his head. The patient was treated on scene. He was transported to Christiana Hospital in serious condition via Minquas Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. Initial reports from the scene indicated that this accident involved a motorcycle rider stuck under a van. Russell did not confirm that in her report.
Fifteen minutes later at approximately 11:45, New Castle County Paramedics and Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder Company were dispatched to the 1300 block of Old Baltimore Pike for a motor vehicle crash.
Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found one patient, a 32-year-old-male, who suffered injuries to his chest, abdomen, and leg. He was treated on scene and transported to Christiana Hospital in stable condition via Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics.
Crews responded to a third accident at approximately 12:35 pm. New Castle County Paramedics and surrounding fire companies were dispatched to the 1300 block of Centerville Road for a motor vehicle crash into a building.
Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found a single-vehicle collision into the side of a building. The patient, an 87-year-old-male, was found in the care of emergency medical technicians. The patient suffered injuries to his head and was treated on scene. He was transported to Christiana Hospital stable condition via Belvedere Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics.
