The Delaware State Police have identified 27-year-old, David Zechman of Wilmington, as the operator of a Yamaha R6 motorcycle, who was killed in a crash that occurred at approximately 11:21 a.m., Monday, May 4, 2020 on the northbound I-95 on-ramp from MLK Jr. Blvd., in the area of W. 2nd St., Wilmington.

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are continuing to investigate a fatal crash involving a motorcycle that occurred at approximately 11:21 a.m., Monday, May 4, 2020 on the northbound I-95 on-ramp from MLK Jr. Blvd., in the area of W. 2nd St., Wilmington.
The initial investigation has determined that a 2009 Yamaha R6, operated by a 27-year-old Wilmington man, was traveling west on the on-ramp from MLK Jr. Blvd., to proceed northbound on I-95. As the Yamaha approached a sharp right curve it failed to remain in the lane and veered left, striking a concrete barrier. Upon impact the operator was ejected off the motorcycle and thrown over the barrier, coming to rest in a surface parking lot approximately 50 feet below the elevated roadway, where he was pronounced deceased.
Identification of the victim is pending notification of next of kin.
The on-ramp from MLK Jr. Blvd to I-95 was closed for approximately 1 hour 45 minutes while the scene was investigated and cleared.
