Troopers: Man Opens Fire On Crowd During Verbal Confrontation

Dover- The Delaware State Police are investigating a shots fired incident that occurred last evening, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on June 19, 2020, at approximately 10:52 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to 5485 South Dupont Hwy, Dover (Uncle Willies Woodside), in reference to a shots fired complaint. Upon arrival, it was learned that five individuals had engaged in a verbal confrontation with subjects in a dark-colored vehicle in the parking lot of the business. A male subject exited the vehicle and fired several shots from a handgun at the group of individuals and then fled the area, said Jaffe. There were no reports of injury as a result of this incident.

A total of (9) .40 caliber shell casings were recovered at the scene. It was determined that three of the rounds struck the Uncle Willies building. The shooter was described as a black male and was in the company of a female.
