Dagsboro- The Delaware State Police have arrested 38-year-old Richard F. Zawora of Dagsboro on felony DUI and drug-related charges, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Heather Pepper.
Pepper said on July 4, 2020, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Troopers responded to the area of the 32000 block of Swamp Road, in Dagsboro, for reports of Zawora slumped over the steering wheel of a brown Chevrolet pickup he was operating that was stopped in the roadway.
Through investigative measures, troopers determined Zawora was operating a vehicle while under the influence, according to Pepper. A search incident to arrest revealed Zawora had approximately 3.731 grams of heroin and a small amount of marijuana consistent with personal use said Pepper. Located on Zawora’s person was approximately $860.00 in suspected drug proceeds.
Zawora was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following crimes:
Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance-Tier 2 (felony)
3rd Offense DUI (felony)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Possession of Marijuana (Civil Violation)
No Person Shall Stop on Roadway
Zawora was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court and was committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $13,102.00 secured bond.
