Troopers: Armed Woman Robs Greenville Nail Salon While On Test Drive

Greenville – The Delaware State Police arrested 36-year-old Clarissa Haglid in connection with a robbery that occurred yesterday afternoon, according to Public Information Officer, Corporal/1 Jason Hatchell.

Hatchell said the incident occurred on July 21, 2020, at approximately 2:29 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the Zyng Nails, located at 3828 Kennett Pike for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, it was learned that Haglid had entered the store, armed with a handgun, and approached the 36-year-old employee at the sales counter, according to Hatchell. Haglid pointed the gun at the victim and demanded money said Hatchell. The victim gave Haglid an undisclosed amount of money before she fled the store in a white Volvo sedan. The employee did not sustain injury as a result of this incident.

The investigation led Troopers to the Union Park dealership where they learned the suspect had taken the get-away vehicle for a test drive. Subsequently, Troopers responded to the suspect’s residence on the 1400 block of North Rodney Street in Wilmington and took her into custody. A search of the residence lead to the discovery of the handgun used in the incident.

Haglid was transported to back to Troop 2 where she was charged with the following:

Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (felony)
Robbery First Degree (felony)
Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (felony)
Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (felony)
Theft

She was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $135,500.00 cash bond.
