Lincoln – The Delaware State Police have arrested 59-year-old Russell Rosetta of Lincoln, and 36-year-old Michael Rosetta of Lincoln, on felony assault and weapons charges following a domestic incident, according to Public Information Officer,Corporal/1 Jason Hatchell.
Hatchell said the incident occurred on July 19, 2020, at approximately 6:02 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 22000 block of Pine Haven Road in Lincoln, for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon Trooper’s arrival, they contacted Michael in the front yard of a neighboring residence who advised he was involved in a fight with his father-Russell, and that he was inside of the trailer with a gun. Troopers detained Michael and made contact with Russel inside of his residence. Troopers observed Russel sustained several lacerations to the head from the incident, according to Hatchell. The investigation determined Russel and Michael had a physical altercation inside of the residence. Russel was severely injured by Michael during the fight and went into the shed at the rear of the property to get a gun, said Hatchell.
Once in possession of the shotgun, Michael was able to take it from Russell and struck him in the head with it multiple times. A computer inquiry revealed Michael and Russell were both convicted felons and are prohibited from possessing a weapon. Russel received medical treatment at the scene by paramedics but refused treatment after being transported to a local area hospital. Troopers later found the 12 gauge shotgun used in the incident in a field behind the residence.
Russell was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:
