Wilmington Police Update Thursday Morning Shooting

Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 1:24 a.m. in the 600 block of North Madison Street.

Police located a 21-year-old male gunshot victim who was transported to the hospital and is listed in critical condition.

This incident remains under investigation and further details will be released when possible.

Breaking Report

Just after 1:30 Thursday morning rescue crews from the Wilmington Fire Department along with Wilmington Police responded to W 6th Street & N Monroe Street for reports of a shooting.

While en route to the scene crews learned that a man believed to be in his twenties what seriously wounded.

Upon arrival, Command reported that the incident was a block away, closer to 6th and Madison Street. At around 1:40 am Command reported that the patient was en route to the hospital.

Officials have yet to release details surrounding the incident.

This morning’s shooting is the latest in what has become an almost daily occurrence in Wilmington.
