On July 14th at approximately 9:45 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of the intersection of Clifton Ave and Sylvan Avenue in the community of Roselle, for the report of a shooting that had just occurred. When the officers arrived, they discovered a 20-year-old victim seated in a vehicle that was parked nearby in Biden Park.
The victim was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was transported to a local area hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Unit were able to identify 20-year-old Rashid Roane, and 20-year-old Makye Fields as the shooters in this incident, officials said Friday. On August 3rd, Detectives from the Special Investigation Squad apprehended Rashid & Makye without incident.
Rashid Roane was charged with one felony count of Assault in the First Degree, one count of felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, one count of felony Robbery in the First Degree, one count of felony Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, and one count of felony Conspiracy in the Second Degree. Rashid Roane was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $202,000.00 cash bail.
Makye Fields was charged with one felony count of Assault in the First Degree, one count of felony Robbery in the First Degree, one count of felony Conspiracy in the Second Degree, and one count of felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony. Makye Fields was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $202,000.00 cash bail.
