Please visit or to quickly access the revised calendar.  Teachers and staff will begin professional learning and planning on August 25. After much  deliberation and consultation with our Board of Education, along with guidance from the state, we will embrace a “safety first” approach to learning this fall.
  • The Capital School District will begin the school year using a full remote learning model for the first 6 weeks of school. Our reopening teams will continue to collaborate to support teaching and learning providing the best possible education for our Senators as they learn from home. We will be supporting students without devices for learning at home and assisting families who need internet access. More detailed plans will be forthcoming on our Senator remote learning plan.
  • Due to the incredible response, our parent surveys are still open (click here) and will remain open until Wednesday, August 12th to ensure that every family has the opportunity to submit a response. Printed surveys for families are also available at the district office. Please complete the survey to ensure that your needs are considered.

  • School year will open in a remote (online) learning environment. To supplement the online instruction, families will be offered face-to-face support in their home school. This approach will be offered using the “Hybrid” approach where your child would essentially be learning online, but have scheduled opportunities to interact with a classroom teacher. This will most likely occur Monday through Thursday, every other week with everyone in Lake Forest schools being in remote learning on Fridays.
  • In order to determine how much face-to-face time we can support, the district is asking families that wish to participate in the hybrid-learning model and families that prefer the fully remote (online) model to complete a survey. Families must respond by Thursday, August 13th so the district can create our schedules based on your needs. Parents must complete one survey for each student they have in the District.
