Troopers: Dover Woman Struck And Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver

Smyrna- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal hit and run crash involving a pedestrian that occurred early this morning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the crash occurred on August 2, 2020, at approximately 1:21 a.m., when an unknown vehicle(s) were traveling southbound S. Dupont Boulevard (SR 13), just south of Brenford Road. A pedestrian for unknown reasons was in the left travel lane of southbound S. Dupont Boulevard and may have possibly been in a low lying position when she was struck by an unknown vehicle(s). The victim came to a final rest in the left travel lane of southbound S. Dupont Boulevard. The unknown vehicle(s) did not stop for the collision.

The victim, identified as 30-year-old Ashley Clark of Dover, DE was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science for further investigation.

The roadway was closed for approximately 7 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.

At this time there is no suspect vehicle(s) information.
