Today, (Sept 28) the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (Baltimore Field Division) has announced that they will contribute up to $5000 for the reward. With this contribution, in addition to the funds from the County Executive’s Contingency Fund, the New Castle County Division of Police, and Crime Stoppers, the total has now increased to up to $25,000 for information leading to the apprehension of Khairon Edwards.
Officials said Khairon Edwards is a black male, 5’06, and approximately 145 lbs. He is considered to be armed and dangerous. If located, members of the community are advised to avoid contact with him and call 911.

Today Crime Stoppers has increased the portion of their reward to up to $5000. With this contribution, in addition to the funds from the County Executive’s Contingency Fund, and the New Castle County Division of Police, the total has increased to up to $20,000 for information leading to the apprehension of Khairon Edwards.

Last Saturday (Sept 19), two patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were involved in a foot pursuit with 22-year-old, Khairon Edwards, in the community of Glasgow Pines. During the foot pursuit, Edwards turned and fired a handgun at the officers, according to police. The officers subsequently lost sight of Edwards and he has not yet been located.
“If we ask officers to protect us from harm, we must protect them from harm,” said County Executive Matt Meyer. “Last week an individual shot a gun at officers of our New Castle County Police. The individual must be caught. We have contributed $4,000 from the County Executive’s contingency fund to reward you or anyone with information leading to the arrest of this suspect. I implore anyone with information to come forward to get this dangerous person off our streets.”
The New Castle County Division of Police is also contributing up to $10,000 to reward anyone with information leading to the apprehension of Khairon Edwards. Colonel Vaughn M. Bond, Jr. again urged Edwards to turn himself in and added, “Anyone who is found harboring or has harbored Khairon Edwards will be investigated and possibly charged.”
With these contributions, in addition to the Crime Stoppers $1000 reward, the totals are up to $15,000.
