Two Trapped, One Ejected In Overnight Crashes

Just before 11:00 last evening, rescue crews from the Christiana Fire Company along with crews from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder, New Castle County Paramedics, and Delaware State Police responded to I-95 NB in the area of route 273 in Newark for an injury accident with entrapment and possible ejection.

On arrival, crews confirmed that one patient was trapped and another patient had been ejected from a vehicle. Within a few minutes, Christiana command reported that the trapped patient had been extricated from the vehicle.

At least one patient was transported to Christiana Hospital by ambulance with medics accompanying, Troopers later requested an additional ambulance for an additional patient.

While crews continued to work the I-95 accident, rescue personal from the Claymont and Talleyville Fire Companies along New Castle County Paramedics were dispatched to the 2400 block of Grubb Road in Wilmington for reports a high-velocity crash.

First arriving crews reported that the patient was trapped in the vehicle.  As a result of the accident, Claymont Command ordered Grubb Road closed and ordered lighting to illuminate the scene.  Police were on scene for hours overnight investigating the crash.
