Wilmington Police have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection to the shooting death of Randolph White.
Police said the investigation into the February killing of White resulted in the arrest of Bryan Edwards.
On February 5, 2020 at approximately 11:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of North Market Street in reference to a shooting that had just occurred. Police located White, 40, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
When First State Update first reported the shooting in February several readers reported that White’s child was at the scene when the shooting occurred.
The case was assigned to Detective Justin Kane of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through his investigation, Kane identified Edwards as a suspect in the case, officials said Thursday. On November 2, Detective Kane presented the case to a New Castle County Grand Jury, which returned an indictment on the following charges:
Murder (First Degree)
Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
Edwards, who was already incarcerated for an unrelated matter, was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and given $1,050,000 cash-only bail on the above charges. He remains committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
