Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police are investigating another homicide in a Bear-area neighborhood.
Yesterday, (November 15, 2020) at approximately 3:45 P.M., Officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were notified that a male suffering from a gunshot wound had been transported to a local hospital via private vehicle. Although life-saving efforts were provided, the victim succumbed to his wounds.
Officers were able to ascertain that the incident occurred in the community of Wilton, in the area of Ashley Drive.
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on scene and have assumed the investigation. This is an active and ongoing investigation.
On Saturday at approximately 4:00 P.M., Officers responded to the area of Estates Drive and Conlin Court, just blocks from yesterday’s shooting, for a report of shots fired. Officials said upon arrival, officers discovered one male gunshot victim, however, they did not release his age. Despite life-saving efforts by officers and New Castle County Paramedics on scene, the victim was pronounced deceased at an area hospital.
Officials said Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit, Homicide Squad have assumed the investigation.
In recent weeks police have responded to several shootings in the same general area.
