US Marshalls Make Arrest In Wilmington Fatal Stabbing

Wilmington Police have made an arrest in connection with the October 29, 2020, fatal stabbing of a young woman.

Officials said on October 29 at approximately 11:59 p.m., police were dispatched to the 200 block of West 4th Street in reference to a stabbing that had occurred. Officers located 25-year-old Tierra Herring suffering from stab wounds. Herring was transported to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Detective Matthew Reiss of the Criminal Investigations Division was assigned to the case. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Reiss identified 22-year-old Alazhia Wilson as a suspect in the case, officials said Thursday. Wilson was taken into custody by the US Marshals Service Task Force on November 11, 2020, after arrest warrants were obtained for her arrest.

Wilson has been charged with the following offenses:
Murder (First Degree)
Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $1,050,000 cash-only bail.
