Dover Police Investigating Second Shooting Incident On Same Street

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that damaged two occupied homes in the Unit Block of South New Street, according to Public Information Office Sergeant Mark Hoffman.

Hoffman said at approximately 10:20 a.m., officers were called to the area for a report of shots fired. One home was occupied by three people and was struck at least one time. The second home was occupied by six people and was struck three times. No persons were injured during the incident.

This incident came just hours after a 21-year-old man was shot in the same area. Hoffman said earlier at approximately 5:39 a.m. officers were notified that a shooting victim had arrived at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital by private vehicle. The victim was struck twice in the upper leg and his injuries are not life-threatening. It is believed the shooting occurred at approximately 4:47 a.m. in the 100 Block of S. New Street. However, the victim has been extremely uncooperative with investigators.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130.
