The New Castle County Division of Police are requesting assistance in the investigation of a shooting in Edgemoor.
Yesterday, December 12th, 2020, at approximately 9:00 P.M., officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of Polk Drive, in the community of Edgemoor for the report of a shooting that had just occurred.
When the officers arrived, they discovered a 23-year-old female victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Initial reports from the scene indicated that arriving officers applied a tourniquet prior to the rescue crew’s arrival. Initial reports of multiple victims appear to be unfounded at this stage.
She was transported to a local area hospital where she is listed in stable condition.
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.
