Gunman Opens Fire In Talleyville Monday, One Struck

Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred yesterday evening that left one man wounded, according to Public Information Officer, Corporal/1 Jason Hatchell.

Hatchell said the incident occurred on January 25, 2021, at approximately 5:15 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the area of Concord Plaza and Silverside Road in Wilmington, in reference to a shooting. The investigation has determined a 42-year-old male from Brookhaven, Pennsylvania was operating his vehicle on Concord Plaza pulling onto Silverside Road, when an unknown suspect inside of a light-colored passenger vehicle stationary on Concord Plaza began shooting at the victim numerous times. The victim was struck by one bullet in the leg. The victim responded to an area hospital where he was treated and released for a gunshot wound to the upper thigh.

Hatchell said Troopers located eight 9mm shell casings at the scene.

There is no suspect information at this time and no other reported injuries.
