Police: Lengthy Investigation Leads To Crack Cocaine, Arrest

New Castle County Police have arrested a Wilmington man on drug charges.

Earlier this month, on January 13, 2021, members of the New Castle County Police Special Operations Unit Drug Control Squad completed a lengthy investigation in the unit block of Forest Drive, in the community of Forest Brook Glen, according to Spokesman M/Cpl. Michel Eckerd.

Eckerd said the investigation lead to the arrest of 36-year-old, Carlos Collazo after a search warrant at his residence yielded 88.43 grams of crack cocaine and 68.52 grams of powder cocaine packaged for distribution.

Collazo was taken to New Castle County Police Headquarters and charged with two counts of felony Possession with the Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance Tier 3 Quantity, and one count of misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned by the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was released after posting $40,500 secured bail.
