Shootings Continue To Plague Northern New Castle County

Wilton – On Sunday, Jan 24, officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the unit block of Highland Boulevard, in the community of Sophia’s Place Apartments, for numerous reports of gunshots being fired.

When the officers arrived at the scene, they learned that two victims had already been transported by private vehicle to a local area hospital.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived and assumed the investigation. They learned that the two victims were 19-year-old males and were being treated for gunshot wounds to their upper bodies. The two victims were also listed as being in stable condition.

Sunday’s shooting is the latest in a string of shootings in Wilton and the surrounding area that County Police are investigating.
