Harrington – Delaware State Police arrested 21-year-old Brandon L. Palmer of Bridgeville on multiple criminal and traffic charges following an early morning crash on Sunday, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Heather Pepper.
Pepper said on January 17, 2021, at approximately 4:10 a.m., Delaware State Police were dispatched to South DuPont Highway in the area of Winkler Road for a single-vehicle collision. Upon arrival, contact was made with Palmer, the sole occupant in the 2021 Nissan Versa, and a strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. As a result, a criminal investigation ensued. Pepper said an inventory search of the vehicle was conducted prior to being towed, and the following items were located:
Taurus 9mm Revolver with an obliterated serial number
Approximately 9.43 grams of marijuana
Drug paraphernalia
Approximately $1,139.00 in suspected drug proceeds
Palmer was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 3 where he was charged with the following crimes:
Possession With Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Felony)
Possession Of A Weapon With A Removed, Obliterated Or Altered Serial Number (Felony)
Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony)
Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited (Felony)
Possession of Marijuana
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Driving a Vehicle Under the Influence
Failure to Have Insurance Identification in Possession
Failure to Have Registration in Possession
Failure to Remain Within Single Lane
Failure to Have License in Possession
Palmer was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $7,401 secured bond.
