Police: Woman Beaten, Shot In Dover Hotel, Suspect Charged With Assault

Dover Police have arrested a 26-year-old man after a shooting inside a hotel room on Sunday morning, according to Public Information Office
Sergeant Mark Hoffman.

Hoffman said at approximately 12:32 a.m., officers responded to the Capital Inn for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a 25-year-old woman inside of a hotel room with three gunshot wounds to her hip/pelvis area and multiple lacerations and bruises to her face and head area. Witnesses told officers that the suspect, Tyrone Allison, 26, had fled the hotel room and was inside a vehicle in the parking lot, according to Hoffman. Officers quickly located the vehicle and took Allison into custody.

Investigators executed a search warrant on the vehicle and located a .22 caliber handgun in the center console, said Hoffman. Investigators also learned that Allison and his girlfriend were involved in an altercation with the female victim. During that altercation, Allison struck the victim several times in the head and face with the handgun and then shot her three times before fleeing, added Hoffman.

The victim remains in a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries. This case remains under investigation.

Allison was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown on an $86,000 cash bond on the following charges:
-Assault 1st Degree
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapon
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
