The Dover Police Department has arrested a 39-year-old man and charged him with terroristic threatening.
Sergeant Mark Hoffman said Raymond Lebeau Jr. was arrested after he threatened juveniles with a weapon Thursday morning.
Officers responded to his home in the 100 Block of Quail Hollow Drive for a disturbance at approximately 9:06. When officers arrived they learned that a tenant in Lebeau’s home slammed a door inside of the residence, upsetting Lebeau, according to Hoffman. As Lebeau was yelling in the home, another tenant, a 16-year-old girl, asked Lebeau to calm down because he was upsetting her 8-year-old sister.
At that time, Lebeau stated he would harm both children with weapons, according to Hoffman. Labeau then retrieved what was believed to be a black handgun and placed it against the 8-year-old’s head and threatened to shoot her, said Hoffman. The mother, also a tenant at the home, arrived at the residence and broke up the confrontation. Lebeau was arrested at the scene without incident. Officers located a black bb gun/handgun replica at the scene.
Lebeau was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond on the following offenses:
-Aggravated Menacing
-Terroristic Threatening (2x)
In late 2020 Delaware State Police arrested Lebeau on felony criminal charges following an incident.
Officials said on December 2, 2020, at approximately 5:26 p.m., troopers responded to Shawnee Country Store located at 6994 Shawnee Road in Milford, for a fight in progress. Through the investigation, it was determined Lebeau and a 21-year-old male acquaintance were involved in a verbal argument inside the business. The argument escalated and Lebeau pulled out a knife he had in his possession and threatened to harm the acquaintance with the knife, according to police. Lebeau was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 5 where he was charged with the following crimes:
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
- Terroristic Threatening
Lebeau was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $5,000.00 secured bond in that case.
