Police: Wilmington Man Sought For Domestic Robbery & Vehicle Theft

Newark Police are actively searching for Wilbert Normand 2nd, 24, of Wilmington, according to Lt. Andrew Rubin.

Rubin said Normand is sought for two domestic-related incidents occurring in the past month.

In the first incident, on January 13, 2021, Normand was involved in a domestic argument during which time he assaulted the victim, took the keys to the victim’s vehicle, and fled with the vehicle, according to Rubin. The vehicle has since been recovered. A warrant was issued for Normand’s arrest for Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Assault Third Degree, and other offenses.

In the second incident, on February 6, 2021, Normand argued with the victim, and the victim called 911. Normand took the phone from the victim while the victim was on the phone with 911 and fled the area, said Rubin. A warrant was issued for Normand’s arrest for Robbery Second Degree, Malicious Interference with Emergency Communications, and other offenses.

Normand is described as a black male, 5’7″ and 180 pounds.
