RTC Project Begins: I-95 SB Overnight Road Closures Begin This Weekend

DelDOT has announced that the next phase of the Restore The Corridor (RTC) Project will begin with  I-95 SB overnight closures this weekend.

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists that the installation of concrete barriers and striping will require the overnight closure of I-95 Southbound in Wilmington.

Phase I

During the nighttime closures of I-95 Southbound, motorists may take alternate routes I-495 or US 13 to their destination.

Saturday
10 PM on Saturday February 13 until 6:30 AM on Sunday, February 14, 2021, pending weather.

Sunday
10 PM on Sunday, February 14 until 4 AM on Monday, February 15, 2021, pending weather.

Location I-95 Southbound between Exit 6 (MLK Boulevard/ 4th Street) and I-95/I-495 Southbound Merge.

Detour Route:

Motorists will exit off of Exit 6 (MLK Boulevard/4th Street) onto North Jackson Street and then turn left onto Martin Luther King Boulevard and turn right onto South Market Street and follow to US 13 Southbound and exit off onto the I-495 ramp to I-95 Southbound.

Phase II

Tuesday
10 PM on Tuesday, February 16 until 4 AM on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, pending weather.

Wednesday
10 PM on Wednesday, February 17 until 4 AM on Thursday, February 18, 2021, pending weather.

Location
I-95 Southbound between Exit 7B (SR 52 North/Delaware Ave) and I-95 Southbound On-Ramp from 2nd Street

Detour Route:

Motorists will exit off of Exit 7B onto North Jackson Street and continue south then turn left onto Martin Luther King Boulevard, turn left onto North Adams Street, and turn left onto 2nd Street to merge left onto the I-95 Southbound On-Ramp.

Detour signage will be posted for motorists.
