RTC Work Begins Tonight With Overnight Road Closures, New Traffic Patterns Monday

TRAFFIC ALERT – UPDATE: I-95 SB Lane and Ramp Closures for Concrete Barrier Installation and Pavement Striping
The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announces to motorists that the installation of concrete barriers and pavement striping will require various closures on I-95 Southbound through Wilmington from February 19 through February 26, 2021. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes I-495 or US 13 to reach their destination.

Times and Dates (pending weather):

Single I-95 Southbound Lane Available (US 202 Interchange to I-295 Split): 9 PM on Friday February 19 until 4 AM on Monday, February 22, 2021.

Full Closure of I-95 SB (Exit 6, MLK Boulevard to I-295 Split): 10 PM on Saturday, February 20 until 6:30 AM on Sunday, February 21, 2021 AND from 10 PM on Sunday, February 21 until 4 AM on Monday, February 22, 2021.

Access to I-95 SB from Martin Luther King Boulevard WB CLOSED: 10 PM on Saturday, February 20. Motorists will be directed to use 2nd Street to access I-95 SB.

Single I-95 Southbound Lane Available (Exit 7 Delaware Ave. to I-295 Split): 7 PM through 6 AM on Monday, February 22 through Friday, February 26, 2021.

Full Closure of I-95 SB (Exit 7B, SR 52 North/Delaware Ave to 2nd Street On-Ramp): 10 PM on Tuesday, February 23 until 4 AM on Wednesday February 24, 2021 AND 10 PM on Wednesday, February 24 until 4 AM on Thursday, February 25, 2021.

Detour signage will be posted for motorists.

STARTING AT 6 AM ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 22, 2021: I-95 SOUTHBOUND MOTORISTS WILL BE IN THE PHASE 1 TRAFFIC PATTERN FOR THE I-95 REHABILITATION PROJECT WITH REDUCED THROUGH LANES ON I-95 SOUTHBOUND BETWEEN THE US 202 INTERCHANGE AND THE I-295 SPLIT. ALL I-95 SOUTHBOUND ON AND OFF-RAMPS REMAIN OPEN DURING THIS PHASE.
