Wilmington – At approximately 6:45 a.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2021, a freight train derailed in the area of Centerville Rd. and Boxwood Rd. There were no injuries associated with the incident.
As a result of the derailment, Centerville Road is closed between Boxwood Road and Old Capitol Trail. Limited access will be made available for local traffic only.
The roadways are expected to be closed for an extended period of time while the train cars are removed and necessary repairs are completed.
