Two Seriously Injured After Car Slides Under Tractor-Trailer Friday Night

Just after 11:30 Friday night, February 26th, New Castle County Paramedics, Wilmington Manor Fire Company, Christiana Fire Company, Delaware Air Guard Fire Department, and New Castle County Police were dispatched to the Route 13 and Route 40 split for a motor vehicle collision with reported entrapment, according to NCC Paramedics Spokesman Oliver Kocher.

Kocher said initial reports indicated that a car slid under a tractor-trailer and two patients were trapped. Multiple New Castle County Medic units and supervisors responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, initial responding units reported no entrapment. New Castle County Paramedics found two male patients, a 23-year-old male, and a 22-year-old male. One patient had minor facial lacerations and the other had moderate facial injuries.

Both patients were treated on scene and transported to Christiana Hospital via Wilmington Manor Fire Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. They were transported in serious but stable condition, according to Kocher.

The Delaware State Police are investigating the incident.
