Dover Man Arrested On Vehicular Assault Charges, Two Injured, Officer Kicked

The Dover Police Department arrested Brian Krolick, 25 of Dover, following a hit and run collision on Friday morning, according to Dover Police Department Public Information Office Sergeant Mark Hoffman.

Hoffman said at approximately 12:10 a.m. officers received a call for a motor vehicle collision in the 200 Block of North Governors Avenue where Krolick’s vehicle struck the rear of another vehicle occupied by two people.

Krolick fled the scene, however, a witness continued to provide location updates over the phone. Arriving officers observed Krolick running into an alley near Lakewood Place and Columbia Avenue and was arrested without incident. A search of Krolick’s vehicle led to the discovery of three vacuum-sealed bags containing approximately 1,454 grams of marijuana, said Hoffman.

Arresting officers observed that Krolick appeared to be intoxicated at the time and transported him to Kent General Hospital for a blood draw. While hospital staff was attempting to draw blood for the DUI investigation, Krolick kicked two Dover police officers, according to Hoffman.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to Kent General Hospital for treatment of injuries that included a broken right leg and a brain injury. The passenger was also treated at Kent General Hospital for treatment of an injury to their mouth as a result of the collision.
