The Dover Police Department arrested one man and is seeking a second in connection with a shooting that occurred on Wednesday evening, according to Public Information Office
Sergeant Mark Hoffman.
Hoffman said at approximately 7:43 p.m. officers responded to a home in the 100 Block of Duet Court for a shooting. Arriving officers located a 46-year-old male who was shot once in the torso and an additional subject who broke their hip from a fall while trying to evade gunfire.

Officers contacted Antar Gales, 37, at the scene. It was learned that officers had responded to the neighborhood earlier in the day for a dispute between the victim’s household and Gales’ household said Hoffman. Gales’ was not home at the time of the original incident. Gales stated that he arrived shortly before the shooting to fight the victim. However, surveillance footage showed Gales and an unknown suspect arrive together in a late model gray Volkswagen Jetta with a missing rear passenger side hubcap. Hoffman said the vehicle drove up to the victim’s residence and several shots were fired in the direction of the home. One shot struck the 46-year-old man and five other struck the front of the home.
Both the 46-year-old male and the subject with the broken hip were transported to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Gales was released after posting a $28,100 secured bond on the following offenses:
-Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony
-Assault 2nd Degree
-Reckless Endangering 1s Degree (4x)
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Criminal Mischief
