Yesterday we told you that New Castle County Police Homicide Detectives had obtained arrest warrants for murder and associated charges on Tuesday.
The warrants recently were added to the Delaware Criminal Justice Information System and were sworn out in the name of the person believed to be the person of interest referred to in NCCPD’s statement on Tuesday.
Although police have yet to publicly identify the victim or the person of interest in Monday’s fatal stabbing in Bear, First State Update learned the names via our own reporting.
When running the name through the system on Tuesday nothing came back to the name. Running the name Wednesday morning we found warrants for Murder First Degree and Possession Of A Deadly Weapon During The Commission Of A Felony.
We also found that Detective John Mancuso, the lead investigator in the Bear homicide investigation, is listed as the affiant on the warrants.
This morning, Thursday, March 25, 2021, the arrest warrants have been removed from the Delaware Criminal Justice Information System. Court records now show that the person named in the warrants has been taken into custody at Gander Hill.
Police have not confirmed that the warrants or the arrest are connected to Monday’s incident.
This is a developing story.
