Officials: Amtrak Worker Injured In Wilmington In Serious Condition

At approximately 11:57 Tuesday the New Castle County Paramedics, along with the Wilmington Fire Department and Saint Francis Hospital EMS, were dispatched to the 4000 block of Vandever Avenue, in the City of Wilmington, for the report of an injured subject in the Amtrak Maintenance Yard.

New Castle County Paramedics S/Sergeant Abigail Haas said medics arrived on scene to find a 62-year old man, who had been injured by a piece of equipment. He was treated on scene for injuries to his lower extremities, before being transported to the Christiana Hospital, in Stanton, in serious, but stable condition.

Initial reports from the scene indicate the work was trapped by a train wheel.
