Arrest Made In Tuesday Night’s Fatal Beating, Victim Identified

Wilmington Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with the fatal assault incident that took place earlier this week.

On April 27 at approximately 10:53 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of 4th and DuPont Streets in reference to an assault that had taken place. Police located a 36-year-old male assault victim, who was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. He has been identified as Allen Graham.

Responding officers took 42-year-old Shawn Dorsey into custody moments after the incident in the area of 5th and Lincoln Streets.

The case was assigned to Detective Brianna Rodrigues of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of her investigation, Detective Rodrigues identified Dorsey as the suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest, according to police.

Dorsey has been charged with Murder (Second Degree). He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $100,000 cash-only bail.
