Police Confirm Driver In Rollover Crash Was Shot

Harrington– Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred Wednesday afternoon, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Heather Pepper.

Pepper said on March 31, 2021, at approximately 3:13 p.m., troopers responded to Milford Harrington Highway in the area of Sandbox Road for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, troopers discovered a single victim had been shot. The victim was provided medical attention at the scene and transported to an area hospital by ambulance in critical condition.

First State Update first told you that rescue crews responded to Milford-Harrington Highway for reports of a rollover crash with multiple people reported injured and that dispatchers alerted responding crews that there were reports of shots fired prior to the crash.

First arriving responders confirmed at least one subject was shot in the head. That patient, believed to be a young woman, was transported as a Priority 1 patient, the most serious.

Milford Harrington Highway was closed for approximately 4 hours while the incident was investigated.
