Two Shot While Driving In Dover On Wednesday

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two persons injured on Wednesday evening.  At approximately 6:55 p.m., officers responded to the parking lot of TGI Friday’s restaurant at 222. S. DuPont Highway for a report of two persons being shot.  When officers arrived, they contacted a 20-year-old female with a single gunshot wound to her buttocks and a 22-year-old male with a single gunshot wound to the left arm.

The investigation revealed that the pair was traveling on S. Little Creek Road, in the area of Fox Road, when a vehicle passed them on the left and the front seat passenger fired several shots as they were moving.  The suspect vehicle fled and the victims drove to the TGI Friday’s parking lot and notified police.

Both victims were transported by ambulance to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

While specific details of the case cannot be disclosed at this time, detectives believe that this was not a random act based on information obtained during the investigation into this incident, according to the department spokesman Mark Hoffman.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130.
