Rescue crews responded to the 2100 block of Pleasant Valley Road early Tuesday for a motor vehicle accident.
Just after 3:30 this morning rescue crews were alerted to an injury crash involving entrapment.
While en route to the scene 911 dispatchers alerted responding crews that police were on scene.
Troopers reported that the patient was inside the vehicle but was refusing to open the locked door.
Minutes later crews learned that the patient was out of the vehicle and was suffering from a possible broken leg.
Photos from the scene show that the vehicle narrowly missed a home and struck a tree head-on.
The patient was transported to Christiana Hospital with undetermined injuries.
