Fatal Incident Closes Pike Creek Road Late Wednesday

Just before 9:30, Wednesday evening rescue crews from the Mill Creek Fire Company along with New Castle County Paramedics were dispatched to Pike Creek Road and Forsythia Drive for reports of an injured person in the road. Possibly a pedestrian struck incident.

While en route crews learned that police were on scene and confirmed that the patient was seriously injured.  As crews began to arrive on scene the road was ordered closed.

Sources familiar with the incident tell FSU that the patient succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Pike Creek Road was closed for several hours while police investigated the incident.
