Man Found Shot In Dover Charged With Disorderly Conduct

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Friday night, according to Public Information Office Sergeant Mark Hoffman.

Hoffman said at approximately 9:51 p.m., officers responded to the 200 Block of Cecil Street for a report of shots being fired. When they arrived, officers located a 44-year-old male victim with a single gunshot wound to the lower leg.

The victim refused to provide any information to officers and became disorderly with them, according to Hoffman. The victim also became disorderly with responding medics and attempted to refuse treatment. The victim refused to sign a waiver to refuse treatment against medical advice and was transported by medics to Kent General Hospital. While at the hospital, the victim continued to be belligerent with officers and staff, causing a disturbance, said Hoffman. The victim was subsequently charged with disorderly conduct.

Officers at the scene of the shooting located a revolver in the area of the shooting added Hoffman.
