Police Identify Two Of The Five Shot And Killed In Wilmington Monday

Wilmington Police have identified two of the five gunned down on Monday.

Police said at approximately 7:06 police were called to the 600 block of North Monroe Street where they located a 32-year-old Kevin Thompson suffering from gunshot wounds. Thompson was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police also located a 33-year-old male gunshot victim who arrived at the hospital in stable condition.

At around 8:30 rescue crews responded to the 1100 block of West 2nd Street for reports that four people were shot. That incident turned into a barricaded subject incident. At around 10:00 tactical officers entered the home and brought the incident to a close. Police have not released information on injuries or arrests. It’s believed that at least one child was transported to the hospital.

While police and rescue crews were dealing with the barricaded subject incident another shooting occurred at 24th and Jessup Streets at around 10:00.  Police said they located 28-year-old Jawaun Shockley suffering from gunshot wounds. Shockley was transported to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police also located a 22-year-old male gunshot victim, who arrived at the hospital in stable condition.
