10 Days Of Road Repairs Coming To Delaware Memorial Bridge Starting Monday

The Delaware River and Bay Authority’s (DRBA) contractor, J.D. Eckman, Inc. of Atglen, PA, will be working to install new bridge joints at two locations on the New Jersey bound span of the Delaware Memorial Bridge. This pilot installation project is part of the Ultra High-Performance Concrete (UHPC) deck overlay pilot construction program that was completed on the New Jersey-bound Span of the Delaware Memorial Bridge last year.

Starting at 5:00 am on Monday, September 27 and ending no later than 6:00 am on Thursday, October 7, 2021, two right lanes of the Delaware Memorial Bridge will be closed to all traffic for the installation process.

During this scheduled work, motorists should expect delays heading northbound into New Jersey, particularly during peak travel times. Commuters and travelers are urged to be careful and stay alert in and around construction zones, obey posted speed limits, and plan to take a few extra minutes during rush hour periods. Motorists may follow the Bridge on Twitter @demembridge for the latest in traffic information.
