Police Surround Concord Mall After Reported Shooting

Just after 4:00, Friday afternoon police along with rescue crews responded to the Concord Mall in Wilmington for reports of a shooting.

Initial reports from the scene indicate the victim and the suspects left the mall shortly after the incident. Employees and customers have fled the mall to the parking lots

Police from Delaware and Pennsylvania have reportedly surrounded the mall.

Update: Sources in law enforcement have confirmed that the victim fled the scene.

Delaware State Police released the following statement:

“North Wilmington – Delaware State Police are currently conducting a criminal investigation in the area of the Concord Mall. As a result, there is an increased police presence in the area and mall entrances are currently closed. This investigation is in the early stages and is active and ongoing. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.”
