Sheriff’s Office Confirms Man Shot And Killed Near State Line, Name Released

On September 29, 2021 at approximately 9:30 PM, Cecil County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the unit block of Willow Court Elkton in reference to
multiple reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, deputies observed a male subject lying unresponsive in the roadway on Willow Court.

The victim appeared to have been suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene a short time later by emergency medical personnel. Deputies
immediately observed evidence of gunfire in the nearby area. Deputies located one vehicle and multiple residences that were also struck by gunfire.

The deceased man has been identified as Ronald Eugene Brown Jr. 32, of Elkton, Maryland.

The Cecil County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating this incident as a homicide. Detectives are working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner
in Baltimore, Maryland to confirm cause of death.

Breaking Report

Just before 9:30, Wednesday evening rescue crews from the Singerly Fire Company along with Cecil County Medics and police responded to the unit block of Willow Court in Elkton, Maryland for reports of a shooting.

While en route to the scene crews learned that a male subject was in the street. Initial reports indicate that one person succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

A resident at a nearby apartment complex tells FSU that they heard as many as 15 shots fired.
