Bomb Squad Finds “Questionable Object” At Hotel In Georgetown

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating this morning’s discovery of an object found on the construction site in the 22000 block of Dupont Boulevard in Georgetown, Delaware, according to Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio.

Chionchio said first responders were called to the location around 9:00 am when an object on a vehicle at the construction site resembled an explosive device. The Georgetown Police Department and Delaware State Police’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal team arrived on the scene. The area was isolated, and the questionable object was rendered safe. No injuries or property damage occurred. The components of the device are being analyzed to determine if the object was a functional explosive device.
