Five Shot In Philadelphia Overnight, One In A Wheel Chair

Below are press releases from the Philadelphia Police Department regarding five separate shootings that occurred overnight.

On Friday, October 1st, 2021, at approximately 1:57 A.M., Police responded to the 5XX block of West Somerset Street for a person with gun on the highway. A 46-year-old hispanic male suffered two gunshot wounds to the buttocks. He was transported by police to Temple University Hospital where he was last listed in critical condition. The scene was held, no arrest and no weapon recovered. The investigation is active and ongoing with East Detectives Division.

On Thursday, September 30th, 2021, at approximately 9:53 P.M., Police responded to the 56XX block of Walton Avenue for a person with a gun on the highway. A 53-year-old white male suffered gunshot wound to the chest while sitting in a wheelchair. He was transported by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced at 10:37 P.M. The victim was later identified as Todd Reeves of the 56XX block of Walton Avenue. The scene was held, no arrest and no weapon recovered. The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division.

 

On Thursday, September 30th, 2021, at approximately 8:10 P.M., Police responded to the 58XX block of Trinity Street for a person with a gun on the highway. A 40-year-old black male suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the face and neck. He was transported by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced at 8:20 P.M. The victim was later identified as David Johnson of the 5XX block of Commerce Drive, Darby, Pennsylvania. The scene was held, no arrest and no weapon recovered. The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division.

 

On Thursday, September 30th, 2021, at approximately 7:46 P.M., Police responded to the 15XX block of West Lehigh Avenue for a person with a gun/male shot on the highway. Victim #1: A 18-year-old black male suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was transported by PFD-Medic Unit to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced at 7:59 P.M. The victim was later identified as Nahzeem Wideman of the 15XX block of West Glenwood Avenue. Victim #2: A 12-year-old black female suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and right arm. She was transported by police to Temple University Hospital where she was last listed in stable condition. Victim #3: A 31-year-old black male suffered gunshot wound to the left arm. He was transported by police to Temple University Hospital where he was last listed in stable condition. The scene was held, no arrest and no weapon recovered. The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division.

 

On Thursday, September 30th, 2021, at approximately 12:15 A.M., Police responded to the 19XX block of West Hunting Park Avenue for gunshots on the highway. Victim #1: A 37-year-old black male suffered gunshot wound to the right wrist. He was transported by police to Temple University Hospital where he was last listed in stable condition. Victim #2: A 33-year-old black male suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and head. He was transported by PFD-Medic Unit to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced at 12:36 A.M. The victim was later identified as Troy Berry of the 30XX block of West Diamond Street. The scene was held, no arrest and no weapon recovered. The investigation is active and ongoing with Homicide Detectives Division.
