Salesianum, Middletown Game Canceled After Pedestrians Struck In Parking Lot

The Salesianum football game against Middletown High School has been canceled due to an accident that occurred in the parking lot at Abessinio Stadium in Wilmington.

At around 5:20 on Friday rescue crews and police responded to 46 Rocco Way, Abessinio Stadium (Baynard Stadium), in Wilmington for reports that two pedestrians had been struck. One of the injured was reported to be trapped under an SUV.

Arriving crews confirmed that there were multiple injuries and confirmed that a woman was trapped under the SUV. As crews worked to remove the patient from under the vehicle trooper 4 landed on the football field. At this time it’s not clear what the total number injured is or what their injuries are.

The patient that was rescued from under the vehicle was later airlifted to the trauma center.
