Troopers Say Homicide Victim Found At Gas Station Was Apparently Shot

New Castle – Delaware State Police are continuing their investigation into a homicide that occurred early Thursday morning at a New Castle area gas station, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Gary Fournier.

Fournier said on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at approximately 7:58 a.m., troopers responded to the parking lot of Super Fuels, located at 3006 New Castle Avenue for a report of a male lying next to the building. Upon their arrival, the male appeared to have been shot and was pronounced deceased by the New Castle County Paramedics.

The 32-year-old male from Wilmington was transported to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause and manner of death. His name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

Delaware State Police are conducting a homicide investigation in New Castle.

Earlier this morning a male was found dead in the area of the Super Gas located at 3006 New Castle Avenue

Police have issued the following statement.

“Delaware State Police are currently conducting a suspected homicide investigation involving a male victim. As a result, an increased police presence will be seen in the area of New Castle Avenue and West Avenue. At this time this investigation is in the very early stages and additional information will be released once it becomes available.”
