The Delaware State Police are investigating a carjacking that took place in a parking lot early Saturday evening, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Gary Fournier.
Fournier said the incident occurred at approximately 8:20 p.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021, in the parking lot in front of Total Wine, located at 691 Naamans Road. Two male suspects approached the 56-year-old woman as she sat in the front passenger seat of her 2016 BMW X3 with the ignition running and lights on. One of the suspects then opened the passenger door and demanded her vehicle while the other suspect opened the driver’s door. The victim refused to cooperate with the suspect’s demands prompting one of the suspects to threaten the use of a gun if she didn’t comply, according to Fournier. The woman was then pulled from the car causing her to fall to the ground. The suspects then fled in the BMW in an unknown direction. The victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment on scene.
The suspects were described as two black males, approximately 20-25 years old, both wearing dark clothing.
