Just In: Hero Officer Attempts To Save Woman Gunned Down In Wilmington

Just after 7:00, Sunday evening rescue crews responded to the 500 block of S Van Buren Street in Wilmington for reports that two people had been shot.

While en route crews were told that CPR was being performed on one of the victims. That patient was later transported to CER with unknown injuries.

Police and rescue crews responded to a nearby home for reports of a second victim.  Initial reports indicated that a second patient was also injured.  That has not been confirmed.

Photos provided to FSU show a WPD officer working to save the life of a female patient injured in the incident.

This is a developing story.
