Armed Carjacking Suspects Make Off With Woman’s Keys, Leave Car Behind

The Delaware State Police are investigating an attempted carjacking that took place in a Walgreen’s parking lot Thursday evening, according to Public Information Officer, Corporal Amina Ali.

Ali said the incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m., Thursday, December 16, 2021, in the parking lot of Walgreens, located at 802 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington. Three male suspects approached a 41-year-old female victim while she was closing the trunk of her vehicle parked outside of the store. One of the suspects demanded the victim’s keys while displaying a handgun. The victim complied and ran back inside of the Walgreens for help. Troopers arrived on scene to find the victim’s vehicle in the parking lot, however, the suspects fled with the car keys towards Duncan Road.

The suspects were described as three black males, approximately 20-25 years old, wearing all dark clothing.
