Newark- Delaware State Police arrested 20-year-old Savion Whyte-Douglas of Newark, and 25-year-old Stephan Lloyd of Newark, on drug and weapon charges following a shoplifting investigation Thursday morning, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Jason Hatchell.
Hatchell said on December 23, 2021, at approximately 11:40 a.m., troopers assigned to the Christiana Mall holiday patrol received notification from the Target loss prevention that two suspects were actively removing computers from the store, located at 800 Christiana Mall Road in Newark. Troopers responded to the store and upon approaching the suspects a foot pursuit ensued. During this time, the suspects fled through the parking lot and back into the mall before both were taken into custody without further incident.
While in custody, troopers discovered Savion Whyte-Douglas was in possession of a stolen 9mm Springfield handgun loaded with hollow-point ammunition inside of his jacket pocket said, Hatchell. The gun was reported stolen out of Chester, PA. Whyte-Douglas is a person prohibited from possessing a weapon added Hatchel. Troopers also discovered Stephan Lloyd was in possession of two Valium pills.
Whyte-Douglas and Lloyd were transported back to Troop 6 where they were charged with the following:
Savion Whyte-Douglas
Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by Person Prohibited (Felony)- 2 counts
Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony)
Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
Receiving a Stolen Firearm (Felony)
Conspiracy 3rd Degree
Resisting Arrest
Shoplifting Under $1,500
Whyte-Douglas was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $61,000 cash bond.

Lloyd was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $3,500 secured bond.
